Federation of Sri Lankan Muslim Associations Qatar (FSMA-Q) Donates Medical Oxygen Cylinders

Sri Lanka is going through a decisive phase in the Covid 19 pandemic. In response to the call of the Sri Lankan Government from expatriate Sri Lankans across the world in the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic by way of assisting in the provision of Emergency medical supplies, the Federation of Sri Lankan Muslim Associations Qatar (FSMA-Q) under the guidance of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Qatar supported this initiative by way of provosion of Medical Oxygen Cylinders.

Sri Lanka is going through a decisive phase in the Covid 19 pandemic. In response to the call of the Sri Lankan Government from expatriate Sri Lankans across the world in the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic by way of assisting in the provision of Emergency medical supplies, the Federation of Sri Lankan Muslim Associations Qatar (FSMA-Q) under the guidance of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Qatar supported this initiative by way of provosion of Medical Oxygen Cylinders.

FSMA-Q, the Apex body of all Sri Lankan Muslims Organizations in Qatar affiliated to the Sri Lankan Embassy, rallied around all its member organizations to support this noble cause by answering the call of the Government to help their motherland during this hour of need.

With the generous assistance of its member organizations, FSMA– Q was able to dentate 60 Medical Oxygen Cylinders through the Sri Lankan Embassy to be airfreighted to Sri Lanka as urgent medical relief supplies. This will be a significant addition to the medical supplies which have already been provided as donations by other Community Organizations and well wishers in Qatar. A ceremony was held observing Covid 19 precautionary protocols to handover the Oxygen Cylinders to the Ambassador on Friday 11th June 2021, with the attendance of Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Qatar, Mr Mohamed Mafaz Mohideen, President of FSMA-Q – Mr Mohamed Rinoz, Vice President and Project coordinator – Mr. Mohamed Lafir with the presence of the Executive Committee members.

The Ambassador Mr. Mohamed Mafaz Mohideen thanked the FSMA-Q and its member associations for giving their fullest support and cooperation to help their motherland during this time of need by the provision of these 60 Medical Oxygen Cylinders which will go a long way in saving lives of their fellow Sri Lankan citizens back home. Speaking at the event Mr. Mohamed Rinoz – President FSMA-Q, thanked all the members for giving their full support to this initiative in addition to focusing on the projects of their respective associations. He also stated that FSMA-Q is always in the forefront to support the Sri Lankan community back home during any calamity or disaster in the past and thanked the Ambassador including the Sri Lankan Embassy for all the encouragement and guidance provided in making this project a success.
