Syria – No Hope of a people’s government By Latheef Farook

Weapons industry flourishing in human misery

Weapons manufacturers and their associates including politicians flourish on the misery of millions.

This is how one could describe the ongoing carnage in Syria-an ancient country of great historic and religious importance where the oppressed   people suffered for   decades under

President Bashar al Assad and his late father Hafiz Al Assad.

Following the Arab Uprising which swept Tunisia, Egypt and Yemen a similar peoples’ rising   in Syria was inevitable. It was a volcano waiting to erupt.

Encouraged by the Arab Uprising Syrians came out in peaceful demonstrations seeking some relief  such as ending   arbitrary arrest, seeking information about detainees, stop torturing suspects and other such reasonable demands.

However President Assad  responded by unleashing violence against peaceful demonstrators opening up a cycle of violence which has brought the country to where it is today.

In the process more than 40,000 people were killed, cities and villages of great historic importance, infrastructure, residential, industrial and commercial buildings were senselessly destroyed by the Assad’s forces.    Today most cities and villages were turned into ghost cities and villages. They were abandoned by people escaping  Assad’s aerial bombings  to the safety of refugee camps to save their lives. Millions of people who lived in their own comfortable houses were thrown into refugee camps where they suffer in appalling conditions.

Once peaceful  society was torn apart as it was done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Libya and several other countries.

Today the mood in the country is that the people who sacrificed their loved ones and lost everything wanted to continue their armed strugglesyria013 until   Assad is ousted and his regime toppled. On the other hand Assad cannot   remain in power after all the killings and destructions he had committed   and pushed Syria into medieval era.

Now it is matter of time US-NATO troops enter Syria to implement their evil designs under some pretext such as the slogan of “humanitarian intervention” used by US-NATO countries to destroy prosperous Libya.

The so called international community which includes United States, United Kingdom and France, jointly controlling the United Nations Security Council, had sufficient time to find a peaceful solution and avert a humanitarian tragedy . However this was not part of their agenda.

Their agenda, ever since the collapse of former Soviet Union in 1989, has been to ensure their military control of the world .Under this Jewish controlled American –European military agenda  the US and its European allies   protect and promote regimes which were their lackeys while   destroying unfriendly regimes to install puppets in power such as Kamid Karzai   in Afghanistan and Nuri Malik in Iraq.

The current wave of US-European invasions of especially Muslim countries in the middle East began  with US led military intervention in the oil rich Kuwait while the world watched Serbian genocide of Bosnian Muslims-themselves blue eyed Europeans. Since then one after the other many Muslim countries were invaded under one pretext or other, often false pretexts, and turned   into virtual wastelands .This include, among others, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan and Libya .Now it is Syria’s turn to bleed before America and its   European allies turn their guns on Iran to complete their agenda to make Israel the supreme power between Europe and India.

Dismantling Pakistan’s nuclear facility may be the last in this agenda to consolidate the Washington-Tel Aviv-New Delhi axis sandwiching the Middle East.

The   two and half decade period since the collapse of the former Soviet Union ,perhaps, may be the most lucrative period for weapons industries in these countries though this has also been the period of worst human misery to millions especially Muslims.

Now that Syria was turned into a killing field the so called champions of human rights, freedom and democracy in the US and Europe together with their Russian friends continue to arm the two factions in Syria and the countries in the region.

The US and its European allies together with Gulf sheikhdoms, including the so called self-declared custodian of the two Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia, partner in crime with US-European-Zionist evil designs and wars against Muslim countries, supply arms to Syrian freedom fighters while Russia, China and Iran arm Assad’s embattled regime. This ensures further prosperity for weapons manufacturers.

Of course politicians  who wage these destructive wars under various pretexts to ensure the prosperity of weapons manufacturers have been some of the best beneficiaries of the human misery .

This   unwritten history continues unabated

For example during the Cold War the world was polarized into  so called free world led by US and the socialist bloc led by former Soviet Union. aleppocollThey divided the world, especially Asian, African, Latin American, Middle East and North African countries into   their client states. They engineered conflicts and turned most of these countries into killing fields to the benefit of their arms manufacturers. As a result many developing countries continue to bleed and their resources looted by US -European corporate conglomerates

Though this has been the unfortunate plight of the developing countries,  the situation in the Middle East has been different as both US led Europe and the former Soviet Union were hand in glove in plotting to destabilize the region.

For example  the US and   Soviet Union   were hand in glove in  planting the racist Jewish entity of   Israel in the heart of Middle East on Palestinian lands. Minutes after United Nations passed the resolution, under American pressure, to partition Palestine to create a Jewish state, US   recognized this   entity followed within minutes by Soviet Union. Since then while US and Europe provided military, political, financial and diplomatic support to Israel, Soviet Union supplied manpower by allowing Jews to migrate to consolidate Israel at a time Soviet citizens were prohibited from traveling abroad.

The role played by Israel in destabilizing the region to the benefit of US, European and Soviet arms manufacturing industries is common knowledge. One commentary charged that Israel is one of the conspirators behind the Syrian crisis in order to strategically change the geopolitics of the region and defeat one of the main players in the Islamic world’s “resistance front” (Iran, Syria and Hezbollah). It warned Israel that with the direction it has chosen, “There is a dead end, and the threat of mass killing awaits.”

 This policy continues unabated  today as demonstrated in the ongoing Syrian crisis .

Reza Kahlili, a former CIA operative, wrote last week that hours after NATO agreed to send Patriot missiles to Turkey because of the crisis in Syria, Russia delivered its first shipment of Iskander missiles to Syria.

Meanwhile Chicago based American columnist Stephen Lendman said US-NATO intervention in Syria is imminent.  This was something many of us have been warning about for a while now. It has been obvious that they have been looking for a pretext and that pretext has already been injected into the public debate."

They cited fabricated claims about threatening chemical weapons. Media scoundrels hype them. Sarin nerve gas was mentioned. Reports claimed Assad readied it in bombs. No evidence whatever was cited.

The alleged Syrian chemical weapons threat replicates bogus allegations about Saddam Hussein’s nonexistent weapons of mass destruction.   It's similar to falsified claims about Gaddafi, the Taliban, and numerous other invented US enemies.

Big Lies launch wars. In "The Art of War," Sun Tzu said "All war is based on deception." It's true now like in ancient times. Instant global communications, super-weapons, and scoundrel media complicity make today's threat especially ominous.

Washington's rage for war threatens humanity. Peace doesn't have a chance. Media scoundrels hype false threats. Repeated ad nauseam,syria014 people believe them.

No matter how many previous times they were fooled, they buy the Big Lie again. It happens every time. They're being set up again now.

Administration, congressional, and Pentagon officials are preparing the public for more wars. Falsified headlines hype nonexistent threats. Humanity hangs in the balance. Where this ends, who knows.

At issue is whether Washington plans a false flag chemical attack as pretext for full-scale US-led NATO intervention. Syria Deeply stopped short of suggesting it.

The motivation for military action   has not been to further a “war on terror,” much less to promote democracy or humanitarianism, but rather to assert US hegemony over an oil-rich and strategically vital region of the world.

On the other hand, even if Assad is toppled from power, people will not able to establish governments of their own as their hands were tied at the recent Doha Meeting. Explaining this columnist Noureddine Merdaci had this to say in an article under the title” Road Map Drawn   to Serve Imperialists and Gulf monarchies;

“It will perhaps take months, if not years, before we will be able to reconstruct the process by which Syria found itself trapped in this civil war. Obviously, Damascus had not measured the danger, not only for the regime in power, but even for Syria itself, now in danger of disappearing as a nation-state

But to achieve this the Syrian "opponents" were ordered by Qatar to "find" an agreement, sine qua non, before leaving the room they were provided. This means that the "Syrian opposition" had a gun to its head, forcing it to reach this minimum agreement. Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani, took a personal interest in the proceedings. In reality, the "revolt" in Syria, totally managed by foreign countries and their intelligence services, was a proxy war against the Syrian national state, a war which needed "Syrians at their service" only to serve as "local color."

In fact, we can better understand the situation when we know the terms of the "Doha Protocol," a document we have been able to consult, which contains the following 13 points:

  1. Syria should reduce the number of soldiers of the Syrian army to 50,000;

  2. Syria will assert its right to sovereignty over the Golan only by political means. Both parties will sign peace agreements under the auspices of the United States and Qatar;

  3. Syria must get rid of, under the supervision of the US, all its chemical and biological weapons and all of its missiles. This operation must be carried out on the land of Jordan;

  4. To cancel any claim of sovereignty over Liwa Iskenderun (Alexandretta) and to withdraw in favor of Turkey from some border villages inhabited by Turkmens in "muhafazahs" in Aleppo and Idlib;

  5. To expel all members of the Workers Party of Kurdistan, and to hand over those wanted by Turkey. This party should be added to the list of terrorist organizations;

  6. To cancel all agreements and contracts signed with Russia and China in the fields of subsurface drilling and armaments;

  7. To allow Qatari gas pipeline passage through the Syrian territory toward Turkey and then on to Europe;

  8. To allow water pipes to pass through the Syrian territory from the Atatürk Dam to Israel;

  9. Qatar and United Arab Emirates pledge to rebuild what has been destroyed by the war in Syria on the condition that their companies have the exclusive access to contracts for reconstruction and for exploitation of Syrian oil and gas;

  10. To terminate relations with Iran, Russia and China;

  11. To break off relations with Hezbollah and with Palestinian resistance movements;

  12. The Syrian regime should be Islamic and not Salafi;

  13. This agreement will come into effect as soon as power is taken   by the Opposition

This is the price of foreign pressures and of resignation and treachery on the part of Arab states. A high price, an exorbitant price for Syria that persons calling themselves "Syrian" have endorsed. Indeed, this agreement, or rather "Protocol," is thus the price that the Syrian opposition will have to pay once installed in power in Damascus, as stated in Article 13 of the "Doha Agreement."

syria015In this way, each of the sponsors of the "revolt of the Syrian people" has helped himself according to his own interests and appetite. The United States, by disarming Syria and distancing the nation from its friends; Turkey, by retrieving Syrian villages and modifying the common borders according to its interests; Qatar, by being granted contracts for the "reconstruction" of the country; and Saudi Arabia, by the establishment of an Islamic regime of its devotion.

This is a virtual castration of Syria, to be stripped of its sovereignty just as Egypt was by the Camp David Agreements in 1979. Actually, it is as if the "opposition" – supported at arm's length by Qatar – were to demand the immediate recognition of Israel, with, however, as in Article 2 of the Doha protocol, a negotiated settlement.

This is a sharing of Syrian hoard! Nowhere is there any question of democracy, freedom, human rights, building a new Syria in which the Syrians, whatever their ethnicity, religion and belief, enjoy the same rights. Instead, each of the "sponsors" served himself first, taking whatever he wanted.

For those who know the turbulent history of the Ottoman Middle East, everything is explained, and Doha was the point of no return for a Syrian opposition that no longer had a voice. It was only to justify the "syrianity" of the events. This was clearly seen in Cairo when the new "boss" of the "coalition," Moez Ahmed al-Khatib, arrived in the baggage of Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani for the Arab League meeting that took place in the mid-November.

In Syria, the scenario acted out for Libya is surpassed, and there is now danger of a general destabilization of the world, even that fragmentation for which American civilian "experts" and military have been working without interruption. We should consider this situation seriously !
