Hello everybody is a comment on the British Chilcott Inquiry on the Iraq War in Guardian UK

Blair has over and over again exposed himself as a liar, a cheat and a P.M. who believed that he could do whatever he liked, including go to war against Iraq without regard to any arguments against it. He’s still a dangerous megalomaniac.. The many thousands who died because of his decision to agree with and support Bush in an aggressive and illegal war against Iraq will haunt his declining years. All who supported and fed that war will be haunted. The dead are not powerless. The USA is already, like Macbeth, “so stepped in blood [they]may as well go o’er ” Their suffering has an earlier genesis : it is a violence born of their massacre of the Native peoples and the theft of their lands. ‘Terrorism’ begets terror. Blood will have blood. Britain finally gave up their violent conquests. The USA ( like Israel ) is occupying stolen land. They are still in possession of the ‘effects’ of their violent aggression against the Native peoples. No reparation has been made, no penitence shown.

If Blair escapes the Hague ( alas, few British people will have any stomach for it: The pride of the country is at stake ) there can be no expiation of his part in the deed. Worse, he will have made all who supported him accessories to his crime. Being the kind of man that he is, he would probably regard that as his ultimate triumph.
