Born in Beruwela, Sri Lanka, an old boy of Zahira College Colombo. Presently residing in Canada. Obatined an honours degree in Engineering in 1960 at the Universty of Ceylon. International Consultant had worked in Ceylon,Canada, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.Presently free lance consultant residing in Canada but winter months in Sri Lanka. Heavily involved in volunteer and social services. Married to Jiffriya Hathy with three children Iftikhar Barrie, Raihana Barrie and radhia Barrie. All married and we have fifteen grand children Masha Allah. Currently an active social worker.
