Zahira College Islamic Society holds contests among schools to mark Meelad un Nabi Day

Zahira College Islamic Society had organized the annual Meelad un Nabi Day and Prize Giving Ceremony on Saturday January 4 at the N.D.H. Abdul Ghaffoor Hall.

It was held under the patronage of Principal of the College Trizviiy Marikkar. President of the Islamic Society  Yaqoob Sadikeen delivered the welcome address.

Deputy Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mohamed Ibrahim Mady was present as chief guest and Ministry of Education Muslim Schools Development Branch Director of Education Major N.T. Nasumutheen was

present as guest of honour. Moulavi Al Alim Ghulam Muhammad Amjadi was the guest speaker. Over 60 schools took part in the Meelad Day Completion in various subjects such as Quirath, Qaseedha, Essay, Speech, Quiz and Presentation.

Muslim ladies College Bambalapitiya were crowned the overall champion of the inter school competition and President of the Muslim Ladies College Muslim Majlis Aazima Azhar received champion award from guest of honour Ministry of Education Muslim Schools Development Branch Director of Education Major N.T. Nasumutheen.

Zahira College and Muslim Ladies College students presented Qaseedha and Group Songs at this ceremony.
Zahira College Board of Governors Secretary Nuzri Munsoor, Old Boys Association President Mohamed Cassim, Vice Principals Ms. Zeenath Ismail, A. M. Mihilar and Mohamed Shazuli, Islamic Society Master in charge Inham Ismail, Members of Board of Governors, old boys, teachers and students were also present.
