Jamiyyathul Ulama urges Imams in Mosques to focus their Friday Jumu’ah sermons on the evils of drug abuse

The All-Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) requests all Khateebs to deliver Jumu’ah sermons this week, on the prohibition of illicit drug abuse in Islam and its consequent impacts upon the society.

 It is well known that our country is facing several serious problems continuously due to the increasing abuse of illicit drugs within our society.

It is of great concern on the recent news reports of a murder of a little girl which had been reportedly committed by a drug addict. Islam prohibits illicit drug abuse and has declared that it is the responsibility of every individual to engage in efforts against it, a statement from the ACJU stated.
