The Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka invites applications for Jinnah Scholarship from deserving Sri Lankan students pursuing their studies at O- Levels and A- Levels.
The scholarships will be awarded according to the final list of merits among all the applications.
The Pakistan government has been awarding Jinnah Scholarships for Sri Lankan students for the past six years through the Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka.
The scholarships are named after the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
The scholarships are awarded on the basis of a strict criteria involving merit and need for financial assistance.
Under this programme, each successful student receives a stipend of Sri Lankan Rs. 24,000 as assistance for one year to follow their studies.
Over 800 Sri Lankan students have benefited from this scheme. During the past seven years over Rs. 20 million worth of scholarships have been awarded.
During 2011, Pakistan awarded Rs. 2.56 million worth of educational scholarships to 107 Sri Lankan O-L and A-L students under the Jinnah Scholarship programme.
Application forms for submitting nominations for the award of scholarships can be collected from the High Commission at 53/6 Gregory's Road, Colombo 7. The deadline for the submission of applications is March 19.
