Mass Graves and pro Palestinian university protests

Exposed true face of Israel and its US-European supporters

By Latheef Farook

It appears there is no limit to US.UK,European Union and Arab dictators backed settler colonial entity Israeli atrocities and barbarity in occupied Gaza and West Bank. In the midst comes unprecedented peaceful protests in universities across United States ,UK ,Europe ,Australia ,Japan and many other countries demanding Israel to stop its genocide in Gaza and stop dealing with Israel.

However there is no such protests in the Muslim Middle East where pro US tyrants keep their people oppressed without any freedom.

While Israeli killing spree which began in the wake of Hamas attacks on Israel on 7 Octoer 2023 continue unabated there comes reports of mass graves at Al Shifa and Nasser hospitals in Gaza where more than four hundred bodies were discovered.

Gaza’s Civil Defense teams have uncovered the bodies of 392 Palestinians buried in mass graves at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. The bodies of children were among the victims.. There were ‘Signs of Torture’.

Some of the dead who were identified “were alive when the Israeli occupation army stormed Nasser Medical Complex, and when it left, government crews found them buried. This was confirmed by the families of the martyrs who were in contact with their relatives before the hospital was raided. Mass graves were dug by large vehicles such as Israeli occupation bulldozers and machines.”

Currently on trial before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has killed 34,305 Palestinians , and 77,293 wounded in its ongoing genocide. The majority of those killed and wounded are women and children. At east 7,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

The Israel caused acute famine due to forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Dining and laughing US President genocide Biden, soaked in Palestinian blood, described the mass graves as “ disturbing” but refused to condemn .

Meanwhile demonstrations which began on college campuses demanding Israel stops its war in Gaza. Within days US universities have become a central point of the wider pro-Palestinian protest movement in the country, which called for an end to US military support to Israel as well as an end to an apartheid system of Israeli control over the occupied West Bank.

Demonstrations in solidarity with Palestinians have spread across university campuses in the United States and around the world including Japan. In some universities students were brutally arrested  as pro-Palestine protests began burgeoning across campuses in the United States. Students are expressing solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip .

Interestingly, students at US universities have emerged as a potent force demanding an end to complicity in Israel’s war on Gaza. The students all have similar demands, one being that their institutions divest from companies linked to Israel’s human rights abuses against Palestinians, and an end to genocide in Gaza .

Meanwhile pro Israeli Jewish thugs attacked peaceful protesters. Police forces gave a free hand for the thugs .In fact police forces throughout the United States, working in coordination with the Biden administration, have beaten and arrested hundreds of students on university campuses for opposing the deliberate and systematic genocide of the Palestinian people by Israel.

On Wednesday 1 May 2024 the House passed the Antisemitism Awareness Act to address reports of rising antisemitism on college campuses. Following day in a speech at Oval Office US President Joe Biden, now called Genocide Biden, backed the violent suppression of protests against the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza by police forces throughout the country.

While on the surface, Biden’s speech might seem like a mere collection of absurd lies of non sequiturs, it advocated a fundamentally dictatorial political outlook, in which the government has the power to declare any protests as “violent” and brutally suppress them.

According to website WSWS The message was clear: In the face of protests throughout the country, the Biden administration will continue its policy of arming, funding and politically supporting the Gaza genocide and shielding its perpetrators.

Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his plans to carry out a ground assault on Rafah, where over a million displaced people are sheltering. Netanyahu stated that the attack on the city would take place “with or without” any negotiated ceasefire

The most significant development of these protests is that the student population worldwide have woken up to the true face of Israeli . This is bound to have serious global repercussions detrimental to Israel and its US-European supporters.

Biden’s claim that the protests are “antisemitic” is based on the reactionary falsehood that equates criticism of Israel and opposition to the right-wing political ideology of Zionism with hostility to the Jewish people. This is under conditions where the resemblance between Israeli policies and Nazi policies has become even more harrowing since October 7, as the Zionist regime presses ahead with a “final solution” to the Palestinian problem that combines mass murder and mass expulsions.

In slandering peaceful protests as “violent,” Biden is seeking to protect the real perpetrators of violence: the blood-soaked Netanyahu regime that has killed at least 40,000 Palestinians.

While Biden declares that violence has “no place” on college campuses, his administration has enabled Israel to destroy every single university in Gaza and kill hundreds of Palestinian educators, some, like literature Professor Refaat Alareer, murdered in targeted assassinations.

Professor Sami Al-Arian’s observation about the ongoing protests sums it up perfectly: What’s happening across US university campuses is unprecedented. I lived four decades in the US, 28 years of which were in academic settings. During my time, it was a very challenging struggle to present an anti-Zionist narrative. But the passion, courage, humanity, creativity, and determination displayed these days by students across US campuses make me proud. The Zionist grip on US society is weakening and waning”.

Columnist Marco Carnelos said The world order is fading away, and there is still no clear idea about the next one.
