Jamila Husain appointed Editor-in-Chief of Daily Mirror

 Senior journalist Jamila Husain has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of Daily Mirror , Sri Lanka’s premier English-language daily. She assumed office on June 1.

Jamila has the distinction of being the youngest Editor-in-Chief of a daily national newspaper in Sri Lanka.

She began her career in journalism in 2003 with Sunday Leader, then joined Daily Mirror in 2007. She left Daily Mirror in 2010 to be a foreign correspondent and returned to Daily Mirror in 2020 as Deputy Editor.

Jamila has won an international award and three Sri Lankan awards thus far in her 20-year career in journalism.
