MAJID IKRAM – The Youngest Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) Holder In The World @16years

Sri Lanka now has another distinction to its credit. It has produced the youngest holder of the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) offered by Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI) – Majid Ikram Thowfeek, at only 16 years. 

Majid is now an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI), UK. His success in IFQ has inspired other young people who are looking for a career path after their GCE Ordinary Level examination to build a successful career in Islamic Finance. 

IFQ is a ground-breaking stand-alone global qualification that covers Islamic finance from both a technical and a Shariah perspective, providing the first international benchmark in the area of Islamic finance. It provides an understanding of the influence of Shariah in a business context and prepares candidates to hold key positions in the Islamic finance and Takaful (Islamic insurance) industries.

The First Global Academy (FGA) where he studied is justly proud of his accomplishment as it is by no means an easy task for a teenager to absorb the technicalities and the entire syllabus like a pro-banker. FGA has also produced the second highest IFQ marks holder in the world.

Farook Fazlullah, FGA student obtained 95% in the Islamic Finance Qualification in 2013. First Global also has the distinction of being selected by DohaBank of Qatar to train its staff to equip them with an slamic Finance Qualification (IFQ).
