Children’s Educational Charity Fund

The Children’s Educational Charity Fund consecutive second year planning to conduct the G.C.E Ordinary Level (O/L) examination seminar for the English Language Subject on 29th of November 2014 at Royal Academy Main Hall at 08.00a.m to 01.00p.m

Why it is required?

*There are over 6 lacks student sit for the G.C.E O/L exam every year and more than 4 lacks children fail in the English as a subject.

*It was revealed in the G.C.E O/L Evaluation Report published by Educational Department only 9% of the candidates could score at least some marks for the Essay question ( Which is almost over 550000 (5 ½ Lacks ) children not even try to write the Essay question in the examination.

*Also revealed in the same Evaluation Report published by Educational Department only 14% tried to write the Letter Writing question (Which is almost over 500000 ( 5 Lacks) are not known  to write a simple letter).

In the G.C.E O/L examination there over 65- 70% of the candidate fail in the English Subject which is the highest among the other subject respectively Math’s and Science follows it,.

Last year Evaluation of the English Seminar  

In the year 2013 we conduct this seminar with the help of the donors and invited 100 students from Colombo District through Schools Like, T.B.Jayah – Slave Island, Khairiya Girls School, Fathima Girls School, Kotahena Central College, Wolfandahl Girls School, Good Shepherd Convent etc… but finally due to popular demand we had to accommodate over 135 students.

Result of the Seminar, these students who attend the seminar obtain 100% pass rate (At least they managed to get 35 marks and obtain a Simple pass) and nearly 40% obtain “A” and 30% obtain “B”

So in this context we are planning to continue this seminar this year too.

We need your support to continue this good work if you can at least sponsor 10 students it will be highly appreciated

The Cost per students is Rs.500.00 inclusive all the materials (File, Pen, Tutorials Cloth -Bag , Booklets Etc…..)
