Hong Kong is tapping the Muslim market to diversify its stagnant economy. It’s looking at providing more halal dining options to draw more travellers from the Middle East and Southeast Asia. With the policy address less than two weeks away, the community is urging the government to provide funding to help them expedite the shift. Currently, fewer than 1% of the 18,000 dining spots in Hong Kong are halal-certified. Jojo Chan reports.
