Every year 4th of February has been celebrated as Independence Day of Sri Lanka to commemorate political independence from the British rule since 1948.
At this juncture, it is an opportune moment for all Sri Lankans to look back and reflect on our achievements and success and be prepared to take immense strides from now onwards to achieve greater socio – economic development and justice.
Let 4th of February 2015 be a day that brings unity and harmonious co-existence among all Sri Lankans with respect and dignity. Regardless of race, religion, caste or creed. Sri Lanka has reached a milestone in its political maturity.
