Muslim researcher,historian Mohideen passes away

Al Haj M.I.M.Mohideen ( 83) founder secretary of Muslim United liberation front and  Executive Director of Muslim Documentation center of Sri Lanka, researcher ,and historian of island’s Muslims passed away on Friday at the National Hospital Colombo after a brief illness.

Late Mohideen hails from Akkaraipattu and lived at Norris Canal Rd Colombo 10. Late Mohideen was one of the members of the delegation which went to Chennai under the Chairmanship of late Dr Badiudeen Mahmood former Minister of Education to discuss with LTTE problem during the North East war time. He was the joint secretary of the All Ceýlon Muslim League which was the premier Muslim organization.

Sri Lanka Muslim Media forum bestowed life time achievement award for his yeoman services towards the Country and Community in 2016 at its twentieth anniversary held at Sports Ministry auditorium under the patronage of Prime minister of Sri Lanka. He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
